Terms of Service — AstroVox

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using AstroVox ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

AstroVox provides:

• Narrated educational astronomy stories with synchronized text
• Post-story knowledge quizzes
• A gamification system (XP, ranking, streaks, weekly challenges)
• A freemium subscription model for access to premium content

3. User Accounts

• You must create an account to use the App
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• Users between 13 and 18 years old must use the App with the supervision of a legal guardian
• One account per person — creating multiple accounts to manipulate rankings is prohibited

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Free Tier

A limited selection of stories is available at no cost.

Premium Subscription

• Unlocks all available stories in the library
• Billed monthly or annually through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Pricing is displayed before purchase confirmation

Billing

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your App Store or Play Store account settings
• We may change subscription prices with prior notice; the new price will be shown before renewal
• We do not issue refunds directly — refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google through their standard refund processes

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App
• Use bots or automated scripts to manipulate XP, rankings, or quiz answers
• Attempt to access other users' accounts
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Upload profile photos that are offensive, explicit, or infringe third-party rights

6. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including story scripts, narrations, illustrations, and the App itself — is owned by or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

7. User-Generated Content

Profile photos uploaded by users remain the property of the user. By uploading, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display the photo within the App.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service, accuracy of educational content, or that the App will be free of bugs or errors.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits rights guaranteed by the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code (Law No. 8,078/1990), where applicable.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time within the App.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Brazil, unless applicable consumer protection law provides otherwise.
